As you know, we're now posting State of the Station here so this blog can be a one-stop information shop (I picked that word 'cause it rhymes…) until the main site is updated. We've now resolved the enclosure issue with Blogger, however, it doesn't support MP3 players in posts. So, things are a bit different than many of us are used to.
If you use Google Reader or a similar feed-catcher to read this blog, you can probably ignore all this. For the rest of us, here's what to do to subscribe in iTunes:
1. Copy this blog's feed, which is http://pride48.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
2. Open iTunes and choose "Subscribe to Podcast" under the "Advanced" menu.
3. In the box that pops up, paste the blog's feed from Step 1 into the URL space. Click OK.
After doing that, whenever an audio file is posted to this blog, it should show up when you refresh iTunes. Other software has similar procedures, and you're welcome to add instructions for them in the comments.
If all this is too much, I'll also post a direct link for each State of the Station episode. You can either right-click to download it to your computer, or click on it to listen to it through your web browser (if your browser supports that).
There, one more thing crossed off the list!
The next State of the Station will be LIVE on Pride48.com at 8pm Eastern on Monday, July 9.

June State of the Station
This post has the June State of the Station, recorded this week. As with the May edition on the previous post, the enclosure isn’t showing up properly for feedcatchers or iTunes. I'm working on it.
I’ll add more information once I solve this, but for now, you can access the file directly. To download, right-click here. Or, you can just click on the link and it will play in your web browser (if it supports that, of course).
Update: All fixed—it should download normally now. I've also posted instructions on how to subscribe in iTunes.

May State of the Station
This post has the May State of the Station recording added, but Blogger doesn't make this process easy. As near as I can tell, the enclosure isn't showing up properly for feedcatchers or iTunes. I'm working on it.

Some quick updates
We’re going to post more information to this blog until we can get the main site fully updated. If there’s something in particular you’d like to know about, leave a comment or email me.
State of the Station recordings
We’re going to post the recordings of State of the Station here so that if you’re unable to listen live, you can still find out what you missed. Subscription instructions will be included in each post.
Get on the list!
GLBT and GLBT-friendly podcasts are welcome to take part in the Pride 48 event, either in Las Vegas or anywhere else in the world (I’ll be participating from here in New Zealand). If you’d like to take part, send me an email (link above) with the name of your show and whether you’ll be in Las Vegas or not. Don’t worry about timeslots—that will come later, and right now we just need to know who wants to take part.
Las Vegas discount codes
Remember that we have special discount codes for those staying at the Luxor, and we also have discount codes for people staying at the Excalibur.
Follow us on Twitter or visit our Facebook page.

Warming up the engines
This year’s Pride 48 event is a little over four months away, and planning is well underway to make it an even bigger success than last year. But now it’s time to turn it up a notch, and there’s a lot to tell you about already!
This year’s event will be held September 14-16 at the Luxor in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be some events before the 14th, and some people will be staying in Las Vegas after the 16th, but the 14th through the 16th is when the live podcasting magic will be happening.
We have special discount codes for those staying at the Luxor, and we also have discount codes for people staying at the Excalibur.
Make your room reservations now! Room rates will only go up, so it’s best to make your reservations early. Just be sure to use the special Pride 48 codes to get special discounted rates (just click the links above to make your reservations).
After you’ve made your reservations, be sure to send your confirmation number, your real name and who else is staying in your room (all will be kept confidential) to Big Fatty at ruined@bigfattyonline.com. This is optional, but we’d like an idea of numbers of people attending, so please at least tell Big Fatty how many people are attending.
And something for podcasters: GLBT and GLBT-friendly podcasters who want to take part in this year’s event, whether in Las Vegas or not, and whether you've taken part before or not, should contact me at arthur@pride48.com to tell me that you want to participate, and whether that will be in Las Vegas, somewhere else, or you’re not sure. Don’t worry—you can change your mind! We just want to know who wants to take part this year. Don’t worry about asking for specific timeslots since we’re nowhere near ready to start making a schedule yet (we'll ask for that information later).
There’ll be more information more often from now on, so to get updates on the Pride 48 2012 event, follow us on Twitter or visit our Facebook page. Both will have links to the information.
Now, let’s get started!

Pride 48 winners in the Podcast Awards
Two Pride 48 podcasts have won Podcast Awards this year:
Feast of Fun won in the GLBT category
Greetings from Nowhere won in the General category
All up, five podcasts that have participated in the annual Pride 48 Event in one or more years were nominated for an award this year, including four of the ten nominees in the GLBT category and two of those were also among the ten nominees for the People’s Choice award (our previous blog post on the awards has the full list of Pride 48 nominees and their categories).
Congratulations to the Pride 48 podcasts nominated this year, and especially to Greetings from Nowhere and Feast of Fun for their awards. Well done, everyone!
